The Cuvier Club in La Jolla has become one of San Diego’s premiere event venues because we are the perfect marriage between the modern class of La Jolla with a little bit of the historical magic of the village. In addition, our venue’s versatility and flexibility attracts events of all types, especially weddings. Our beautiful bougainvillea garden is the perfect setting for a ceremony or outdoor cocktail reception. However, brides and grooms love to take advantage of our proximity to the ocean and opt to have a ceremony in parks by the beach like:

• Cuvier Park – Almost a stone’s throw from the doors of the Cuvier Club, Cuvier Park, also known as The Wedding Bowl, is probably the most popular ceremony site in San Diego. It rests on a small peninsula offset from the street, perfect for small to medium-sized weddings, and has a semi-private feel with a breathtaking view of the ocean and adjacent cliffs. A city permit must be obtained for a ceremony at this location and is valid for a four hour period, including setup and breakdown.

• Ellen Browning Scripps Park – About a ten to fifteen minute walk from the Cuvier Club, this area is also by the water and the most photographed spot in San Diego according to AAA Magazine. Since it covers an area much larger than Cuvier Park, it is a little more public but great for larger-sized weddings. A city permit must be obtained for a ceremony at this location and is valid for a four hour period, including setup and breakdown.

• Calumet Park – About a 10-15 minute drive from the Cuvier Club, this area is also a great location for larger-sized weddings and nestled in a residential neighborhood of Bird Rock. A city permit must be obtained for a ceremony at this location and is valid for a four hour period, including setup and breakdown.

• Pacific Union Pocket Park – Located within the property of the Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla, across the street from The Cuvier Club, this area rests above street level overlooking the ocean. Great for small to medium-sized weddings, it can be rented through the museum for a 3 hour period which includes setup and breakdown.
